The End
I’ve been reluctant to do this post for a long time but it is needed. A little while back the site was hacked. After my valiant efforts to contact both wordpress and my host, I have received no response and it is just about time that It’s A Rap will unfortunately have to close its doors. Whatever the hacking did caught Google’s attention and the site was removed from Google searches. It may not seem like much but when you realize the majority of people stumble upon your site via Google, readership dwindled to almost a standstill and it wasn’t enough to keep it going. Starting this site in 2008 sitting in my dorm room I would have never thought to even make it 3 years but I did. It has been an amazing experience and along the way have met way too many people to say but I thank each and every one of you. Each reader of this site, each artist, each promoter, everyone. I love you all but this isn’t the end. Luckily I am with the amazing people over at www.RubyHornet.com @RubyHornet and I am nowhere near close to stopping blogging. My email is still itsaraprogo@gmail.com so music can still go there to get up on RubyHornet. Good day to you all and I wish you the best.
[Mixtape] Kuhlamity- Indulgence

I’ve posted some Kuhlamity before but I’ll give you guys a little insight once again. Kuhlamity is out of my hometown where talent is hard to come by but he seems like he has the right idea. Indulgence is his first mixtape and while there are times where he could be better the final product that he puts out is solid. He goes over some classic beats and completely makes them his own. If I had to pick some favorites I would check out Fuck A Dream and My Relation. I think that My Relation is probably my favorite out of the bunch though because it exemplifies to me the raw talent that Kuhlamity has. He comes at you with a strong and sometimes violent flow but it isn’t over the top which I have started seeing with most of the new rappers that are coming out trying to jock OddFuture. Instead he is able to turn it into good music which flows right in with some of the people who have been his idols, in Jedi Mind Tricks. Also teaming up with Block McCloud & Doap Nixon doesn’t hurt.

Lewis & Martin Beamon- Forever Gone
Now I don’t know that much about Lewis & Martin Beamon, well anything really but I had this link sent to me. I decided to give it a chance and what came out was this dopeness. I will be keeping my ear out for more from these two so be on the lookout if you enjoyed what you heard above.
[Video] Rickie Jacobs ft. Rome- Next FryDay
Rickie Jacobs and his homie Rome created this song a little while back and I think from the video you can tell when that was. When Rickie & Rome team up it’s always a good time and a smooth song so check out what the two can do and be on the lookout for more of the same in the near future.
[Video] J. Good x Rufio- Searching For Alicia Silverstone Trailer
The homie J. Good has teamed up with the oh so skilled producer Rufio for his upcoming project Searching For Alicia Silverstone, (yeah where the hell did she go) and have also teamed up with clothing company MMVIII for the release. Above is a little taste of the sexiness that we are going to experience once the project drops. You can catch J. Good, Rufio and MMVIII on twitter at the following links respectively.
[Mixtape] Calez- Is Calez Famous Yet
Calez set me this a while back but with everything that has been going on around me it slipped through the cracks with well just about everything anyone has sent me. The kid has some serious talent, which you can see a little bit off while tears apart the Kid Cudi instrumental above. He runs in a circle with a lot of other talented rappers with Legit being one of them. Check out his mixtape below if you enjoy the above.
Luck-One- Breakthrough
When I first started this blog one of the first artists I stumbled across was Luck-One back when he released his project with my friend Dekk. He has grown a lot since then and his music just continues to get better and better and better. Breakthrough might be my favorite Luck-One song to date and after meeting him at SXSW I know that there is going to be a lot more like this coming. Luck-One has so much passion for the game and his music is real, there are no smokescreens in front of him and every line he spits comes straight from the heart. King Of The Northwest out August 30th.
[Mixtape] Justin Taylor- Questions & Answers

It has been a while but Justin Taylor is back. He has been off working hard to put out this brand new mixtape Questions & Answers. While he has switched his style up a little bit since the last time we heard him Justin has put a lot of passion into his music. The mixtape talks about what has happened throughout the time since his last release, The Prequel. Check it out and enjoy.
Obie Iyoha- Metal Ape

Obie Iyoha is back again. He was supposed to release his upcoming project Tha Low Key July 12th but it had to be pushed back so in return he has blessed us with a track off of the project in Metal Ape. Obie is dope, I will say that time and time again and Metal Ape only proves that once again. Once Tha Low Key is here it will be a happy day so check out Obie and let me know what you think.

[EP] Eddy B & Tim Gunter- Overseas

Tim Gunter is the producer and Eddy B is the rapper over the duo that I recently stumbled across. Eddy B comes off with a little bit of a Big Sean feel and with it obviously being summer we all need some music that we can blast with the sun beaming down on us as we live it up. Both are college students in North Carolina (attending UNC-Greensboro and NC State respectively). The EP is full of 6 feel good summer tracks that sample tracks like Len’s “Steal My Sunshine” and Sublime’s “What I Got.” I mean rap over samples of those songs, you should already be salivating. Anyway I included a youtube stream after the jump of Hey Mama! which was one of my favorite songs off of the EP. Enjoy!
